Hello! I am Alyssa Rose, a professional people and pet photographer in Seattle. My Green Lake studio has been a neighborhood staple since 2007 with hundreds of families, kids and dogs photographed over the years.

Graduating from Seattle University with an honors Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in photography, I focused on weddings for my first year before founding my studio space in 2007 and building a following for my modern white backdrop studio portraits focused on kids, families and lots of pets. My husband, Aaron, has been a huge support throughout the years both in and out of the studio and we have photographed many weddings together. We were married in 2010 and welcomed our two sons a few years after with Colter arriving in 2013 and Wyatt in 2016. After the summer arrival of Wyatt in the height of wedding season, I began the process of phasing out weddings with a sole focus on portraits now, my true passion. Silly kids, snuggly families, wild and slobbery dogs are my absolute favorites to photograph and I loves seeing many clients return year after year. When not photographing clients in studio and all around the Seattle area, I loves hitting the ski slopes with my family, hiking and getting outdoors, traveling to visit family and new locations, catching up with friends, three cups of coffee to start the day, reading (preferably memoirs and thriller/mystery novels) and trying to get in a daily walk for sanity levels either with my husband or while listening to an audio book.. I do NOT enjoy cooking (thankfully Aaron is an amazing cook with a past in the restaurant business!), raw tomatoes (but everything made from tomatoes is great, I’m weird like that) and long periods of time not getting to see family and friends or travel. We rescued our pup Mac (full name Macaroni) from Seattle Humane in January 2024, an adorable and energetic mutt mix of 13 breeds. The best guess from the shelter was lab retriever mix so we were tickled to find out on receiving his doggie DNA results that he does in fact have some lab in him - a whopping 1%! Check out his puppy cuteness (and my big boys too) in the photo below). While surviving the first three months of puppy parenthood was challenging at times (those puppy teeth are razors!) he has been the perfect addition to our family.

In addition to my portrait work, I have also been the calendar photographer for PAWS since 2015, donating thirteen sessions annually for each calendar month and the cover to help raise thousands of dollars for local rescue animals. See some of my past calendar work here: PAWS
